For pets that shed fur, a robot vacuum/mop combo is one of the best floor cleaning solutions. The machine can mop and vacuum, and even dry and clean its own dual mop pads.

It also has the greatest suction power of any robot we have examined, with 8000Pa. It can also save maps of your home and create cleaning schedules through its app.

1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the latest model in Ecovacs range of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This model that is dry and wet includes the updated AIVI 3D2.0 lidar system Ecovacs, which gives improved mapping and obstruction avoidance. The system is dual-laser LiDAR which is similar to what is used in self-driving cars -- and can scan up to 32 feet wide by 270 degrees. This translates to more accurate mapping and faster response times and better cleaning accuracy.

It also comes with a rotating mopping mat made of chenille, making it easier to scrub hard areas than traditional mops. During my tests, the X2 Omni washed its pad in less than a second and then got to work. I noticed that it was more precise than other models that seemed to follow the grid of rooms. It was able to navigate around corners and edges of my rooms, as well as make "Zambani patterns" both in and out of the middle of the room. It also returned to its OMNI station on a regular basis to empty the dust bin and clean the mop using hot water prior to starting another task of cleaning.

The Deebot T10 is an excellent robot vacuum that gives impressive results. It removed more than 96% debris from our hardwood flooring. This is a fantastic performance. It also did an excellent job on tile and carpet and tile, getting rid of more than 90% of dirt and dust.

This robot vacuum and mops has a large docking system that lets you clean the mop pads automatically using cool mop pads. It also comes with an auto-emptying 3L bag which is easy to replace and hot air drying for fast and simple maintenance. It also has a huge water tank that permits more frequent rinses and dries between mopping runs.

Like many other mopping robots, the Deebot T10 Omni has a wash tray in its base that cleans and dries its mop pads as it uses them. It does not have a tray that can be removed, which means that dust, dirt and other grime will slowly build up at the bottom.

3. RoboVac X8 Hybrid

While Anker-owned Eufy is well-known in the world of robot vacuums but this model is its first venture into the realm of mopping. It features improved intelligence with multiple map support, LIDAR scanning and twin-turbine technology that automatically adjusts to the surface you are cleaning. It's a mid-range robotic cleaner that's attractive even if the claim of being a one-stop-shop for floor cleaning doesn't quite be realized.

The X8 Hybrid looks like a traditional robotic vacuum cleaner from the top with its circular shape with sweeping wheels and an elevated area for sensors. On the other side, you'll see a motorised floorbrush and a single side brush that moves dust away from the edges and into the main artery of its' mouth.' It's smaller than the main brushes of the iRobot Roomba S9 which I found made it easier to reach under chairs and couches.

Its mapping system is reasonably sophisticated, allowing you to set no-mop zones, as well as specific cleaning zones. However it is prone to get into things (including its own charging dock) and isn't the best at climbing over rug. It was capable of picking up pet hair on floors that were not paved however, and in our tests it took in 89.5% of kitty litter - a figure that is higher than all but the most powerful robots we've tested.

The A4s Pro is a bit expensive however it's a great purchase for those who want to to leave the house with no hands on so they can get out and do other things or take care chores. It's still able to get under furniture and in the corners. Mopping mode was very effective in our tests, picking up stray hair and other debris.

Shark's iQ isn't quite as robust as the Roomba S9, but it is superior in general at cleaning up pet hair on all surfaces. It clears bare floors more efficiently and does a decent job on carpets with a low pile and also makes use of smart-pathing navigational technology for superior maneuverability. It also allows you to transfer it to a particular area, and its advanced set of automation features include no-go zones as well as scheduling. It also lets you to pause and resume the cleaning process, so it's perfect for homes with pets.
