The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

For pets that shed fur, a robot vacuum/mop combo is among the best floor cleaning options. It can vacuum and mop and even dry and clean its own dual mop pads.

It also has the highest suction power of any robot vacuum cleaner for pet hair we've examined, with 8,800Pa. It can also organize cleaning schedules and save your house's maps through its app.

1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the most recent in the Ecovacs range of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This model is dry and wet. It includes the updated AIVI 3D2.0 lidar system from Ecovacs, which provides improved mapping and obstruction avoidance. It uses dual-laser LiDAR similar to the kind you'll find in self-driving vehicles and is able to scan up to 32 feet in 270 degrees. That translates into more precise mapping, quicker response times, and higher cleaning accuracy.

It also has a rotating mopping pad made of chenille fabric. This makes it easier to scrub tough areas more effectively unlike traditional mopping. In my testing, the X2 Omni took just over an hour to wash its pad and get to work, and I noticed that it was much more accurate than the previous models, which seemed to follow a grid route around rooms. It was able to navigate my rooms with its corners and edges as well as make a "Zambani pattern" that ran up and robot vacuum mops down the middle of the room. It returned to its OMNI Station frequently to empty the dustbin, and wash the mop with hot water prior to beginning another task of cleaning.

The X2 Omni is just as easy to use and set up as the other Ecovacs products. Simply snap the dock into place then plug it in and connect it to your home WiFi network. It takes only some minutes. You can then open the app to begin your first cleaning task. I was able to dig into the settings and modify my floor plan in less than 15 minutes, which included creating specific areas for mopping and sweeping, reworking my wall-mounted furniture placements, and more. The X2 Omni was astonished in my tests, achieving outstanding scores in cleaning pet hair and debris cleaning, as well as close to perfect results in crevice and edge cleaning.

2. Deebot T10 Omni

The ECOVACS T10 Omni is an extremely powerful vacuum and mopping machine. It is the most advanced model of the T-line of the brand and comes with the latest OZMO Turbo 2.0 mopping system which uses dual-spinning brushes for better cleaning than traditional oscillating scrubbing. It also comes with YIKO built-in, a unique natural language processing technology that allows it to respond to a wide range of voice commands. The ECOVACS App lets you plan your home, make cleaning schedules and adjust settings.

The biggest con with the T10 Omni is that it can't switch between mopping and vacuuming in a single run. Both modes require that you attach and take off the mop heads as needed, which is fine for most homes, but not suitable for people who lead busy lives.

The Deebot T10 is a great robot vacuum that delivers impressive results. It vacuumed up more than 96% of the dust we tossed at it on our hardwood flooring which is an impressive performance. It also did an excellent job with tile and carpet cleaning up more than 99percent of dirt and dust.

This robot vacuum and mops comes with a large docking system that lets you clean the mop pads automatically using cool mop pads. It also features an auto-emptying 3L bag that is easy to replace, and hot air drying for quick and simple maintenance. It also comes with a large tank of water that allows it to be washed and dried more frequently between mopping sessions.

Deebot T10 has a wash tray built into its base, which is similar to other mopping robots. It makes use of the wash tray to wash and dry its mop pads while it is using them. However, it doesn't have a removable tray, which means that dirty water, dust and other grime slowly builds up in the bottom of the tray over time.

3. RoboVac X8 hybrid

This is the first mopping model from Anker that is renowned for its robot vacuums. It has upgraded intelligence, multiple map support, LIDAR scanning and twin-turbine technology that automatically adjusts for the surface you are cleaning. It's a mid-range robot cleaner that's attractive even if the claim of being a one-stop shop for floor cleaning doesn't quite make sense.

The X8 Hybrid appears to be an ordinary robotic cleaner from the top. It has a circular shape with sweeper wheels and an elevated sensor. Turn it upside down, however, and you'll find a motorised floor brush plus one side sweeper brush that carries dirt from the edges into the main pathway of the robot's 'mouth'. It's a little smaller than the main brushes on the rival iRobot Roomba S9, which I discovered makes it easier to access under chairs and sofas.

Its mapping system lets you define no-mop areas as well as specific cleaning zones. However it is prone to bump into things (including its own charging dock) and isn't the best at climbing over carpets. It was good at picking up pet hair from bare floors. In our tests it picked up 89.5 percent of cat litter.

While it's controllable via the app it's also controllable via the app. X8 Hybrid also comes with a series of physical buttons on its base that let you select a cleaning mode and turn the robot on/off. Additionally, you can use these to set no-go zones and view real-time maps. It's also a bit chatty and will tell what it's going to do next (start cleaning) or alert you if something is wrong.

4. ILIFE A4s

This high-tech model sucks up pet hair, kibble and other messes with remarkable efficiency and maneuvers flawlessly around furniture legs. It comes with a set of features that is impressive, including two cleaning modes as well as an automatic docking station and real-time obstacle avoidance technology. It's Wi-Fi-connected and best controlled through the Neato app where cleaning can be scheduled and overall maintenance needs are monitored. The X2 Omni is an excellent choice for homes that have a hardwood floors and carpet, but it requires some planning ahead to avoid getting stuck by electrical cords, toys, or other unexpected obstacles.

The robot performed well during our tests on hardwood floors and kibble. It ate everything, from one rice grain to a variety of pet food pieces in only one swipe. It did have some issues with rugs but, generally, this vacuum cleaner is great for rooms with floors of different types and a mix of pets.

It's not cheap but if you're able to manage the price, it's an excellent buy for those who wish to be able to leave their homes free to do other tasks or take care of chores. The A4s Pro has a convenient auto-cleaning mode that boosts suction to tackle tough dirt or spills. It also comes with a battery powered ElectroWall to set boundaries for the robot.

This budget-friendly option from a well-known brand is the cheapest robot we've tested to date and offers an exceptional value for the price. Its basic navigation system uses a super-basic random pathing algorithm, but it doesn't have room mapping capabilities, making it less time efficient than the other models on this list. However, it's still able to navigate under furniture and into corners and its mopping mode performed well in our testing it picked up pet hair and other debris effortlessly.

5. Shark iQ

Shark's iQ may not be as sturdy, but it is better at cleaning pet hair from all surfaces. It clears bare floors more efficiently and does a decent job on low-pile carpet, and it utilizes smart-pathing navigational technology to provide better maneuverability. It also lets you assign it to a specific area, and its advanced suite of automation features include no-go zones and scheduling. It also lets you to pause and resume a cleaning session, so it's perfect for homes with pets.

Its self-cleaning brushroll prevents the tangles caused by pet hair and other debris and its bagless self-emptying docking station can hold up to 30 days worth of dirt prior to needing to be emptied. It comes with of angled side brushes that can reach into corners, as well as a multi-stage filter system to capture dust, dander and allergens.

This robot vacuum feels solid and well-built, and it works with a smartphone app which lets you alter its vacuum settings and schedule cleaning sessions in advance. The app also lets you see the remaining battery life of the iQ and receive notifications via push for any issues it encounters during a cleaning session. You can control it with your voice with an Amazon Alexa device or Google Assistant device. If you don't have either of these devices, you can mark areas by using physical boundary markers.

The iQ is good for cleaning floors that aren't clean, and does a decent job on shaggy and low-pile carpets. However it doesn't provide the same level of autonomy as our top selections. It's also costly and the cost of recurring use can add up.
