BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost uses the data bus CAN to communicate with your vehicle. This prevents thieves from adding an additional key or replacing the ECU to bypass your security system as it requires a valid PIN code to start the engine.

Like other immobilisers, unlike other immobilisers, the Ghost does not use LEDs or key fobs. It relies on the buttons of your vehicle to allow you to to enter a unique sequence of disarming that only you know.

Stop & Start

If you've been in a BMW or utilized its stop-start feature, you might have noticed that the engine continues to run for a period of 30 seconds after you have released the brake pedal. This is due to the BMW engine management system continuously monitoring your vehicle for signals from the ignition key, and if it is detected, it will keep running. The Autowatch 2 Ghost is a device that can stop this by stopping the vehicle when you press a button.

Our BMW ghost immobiliser, a new generation device, doesn't require you to cut OEM wires or add aftermarket alarms and key fobs. It is connected to the BMW CAN data network and is programmed with a unique PIN code which is accessed by buttons in your car. This lets you enter a specific key push sequence that isn't found in the normal menus for media, such as volume up/down, cruise control, source or air conditioning on that prevents your car from starting unless it is entered. The PIN could be between 4 and 20 digits, so it is extremely difficult for thieves to figure out or crack.

We can also include the ability to use a service/valet feature. This is activated while your vehicle is being maintained so that the Ghost is hidden from the garage. This can be done by pressing the service button on your infotainment system 5 times (the system will flash to confirm this) and when you return the Ghost will re-arm automatically.

Ghost immobilisers are highly recommended for top-of-the-line vehicles. It's totally undetectable and does not require cutting any factory wiring and can disable the engine of your vehicle when an incorrect pin code is entered. Service / Valet Mode

The Ghost is a market leading immobiliser designed to stop your vehicle from being taken by key cloning and hacking. It works by using the factory buttons on your vehicle to create a unique sequence of presses that only you can identify, much like the pin code security on your mobile phone. If you're parked at your home or in a meet and greet situation when you are at a meet and greet, the Ghost can be set to service mode. This lets you start the vehicle with your keys, but stops the engine from restarting until the correct code is entered. This is ideal for customers who need to hand their cars over to valet businesses or other trusted friends and family members. It also lets you take the car to the garage for maintenance or repairs without having to worry about it being damaged or stolen by a mechanic while you are waiting.

Once the service/valet mode is enabled, your BMW will not be able to drive once it has been turned on. This prevents anyone else from driving it while you're away. Once you return, the car will revert to normal and stop it from being damaged or stolen.

The Ghost can be fitted to any BMW. All you need are the correct keys since the device doesn't utilize the original remotes, but can be used in conjunction with them. We are TASSA-registered, DBS-security checked and fully certified in system installation. We also have an optional Bluetooth tag that can be used to deactivate the Ghost through an app for your smartphone (IOS and Android) or in the event that you don't own a smartphone or aren't familiar using it, simply press the emergency card one time. This is an additional cost and requires a different Bluetooth pairing.

Anti-Hijack

With hi-tech thieves becoming more and more sophisticated, the security technology has to improve, which is why Ghost has developed this discreet and non-obtrusive immobiliser. It's designed to stop thieves from using a brand new key or replacing the ECU to start your car and then drive away. Ghost links up to your CAN data network and utilizes the buttons in your vehicle (steering wheel, centre console and door panels) to create a unique push sequence that needs to be entered before the engine can be started.

This will activate the anti-hijack function and, once it is activated, any attempt to start the engine will be blocked. If the system detects that the vehicle has stopped moving it will honk the horn and flash the indicators. If it is unable to find the correct code it will also stall the engine (where possible). The Anti-Hijack feature can be removed by entering your push sequence, or by entering service mode that allows your car to temporarily begin and drive, without having to enter your PIN.

If you have a GPS device linked up to your BMW it is possible to use it to cancel the Anti-Hijack feature, so you can still use the navigation system inside your car even when the vehicle is parked and unattended. If you have a smart-phone you can also hook it to your Ghost app to control the anti-hijack feature and other functions.

This product is Tassa-certified and is recognized by the majority of insurance companies. It reduces the chance of your joy and pride being stolen. It is completely discrete and unobtrusive, it will not interfere with the vehicle's functionality or require any special programming skills to set up or operate. It is totally undetectable to the tools used by thieves to detect the device and is not susceptible to key cloning because it connects to the CAN data network of your vehicle.

Remote Control

We can connect your ghost immobiliser installer device to your mobile app for remote control of keyless start and go functionality. This is useful if mechanics or valets need to start your car and you are other where. The system allows you to start the vehicle by selecting drive and then exit the service mode without the need to use your key fobs. You can also view your vehicle in real time on a map on your smartphone, ideal for tracking your car when moving around.

The Ghost can be fitted under the dashboard or within the centre console, it is completely concealed and tamperproof and does not require additional wiring. The device is connected to the vehicle's CAN Data Network (similar to an Ethernet cable) and a unique PIN code is embedded into it. This pin code must be entered prior to the vehicle's start. This stops thieves from using a copied key or replacing the ECU in order to disable this system.

If the vehicle is stolen in any way, the Ghost will enter a security mode and shut down all functions unless the PIN code is entered, or you make use of the mobile app to disarm it. This feature was developed to protect you vehicle from high-tech thieves who use relay boxes to steal it. This will stop thieves from using mobile phones to turn on your sat-nav or mp3 players to locate your vehicle!

Ghost also can stop the 'Relay Style Frequency Amplifier'. This is the most common method of stealing a vehicle with a keyfob that's been copied, or stolen by hacking. Ghost allows you to prevent this from happening by installing a device known as Secure-A Key in your vehicle. The device is inserted into the key-fob of your vehicle and shuts off its battery after a few inactive minutes. This is possible with most modern PKE keys.
